Daniel Conti and his band Drawing Back are a  power trio from Marble Falls,Texas.

    IN 2004, DANIEL CONTI FORMED THE BAND, DRAWING BACK. THE ORIGINAL BAND MATES CONSISTED OF VOCALIST
    JOHNNY COLOMBO, DRUMMER DAVE SIMS, AND BASSIST KURT MANTHEIY.  THE BAND DISMEMBERED IN THE SPRING
    OF 2005. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2005, DANIEL RECRUITED DRUMMER ERIC CARDENAS AND BASSIST HARRIS
    STEDMAN.  HARRIS LEFT THE BAND IN THE SUMMER OF 2006.   JOSH BRIDGES PLAYED BASS FOR THE BAND FROM
    THE FALL OF 2006 UNTIL FEBRUARY OF 2007.IN JANUARY OF 2007 ORIGINAL DRUMMER DAVE SIMS,  REPLACED ERIC
    CARDENAS .MARK D'ASTO , ON BASS, JOINED DRAWING BACK AS THE FIRST OLDER MEMBER OF THE BAND.IN JULY
    2007,DR D BECAME THE DRAWING BACK BASS PLAYER WE ARE SO EXCITED TO HAVE HIS WISDOM! JUNE

    18 years old, Heart of Drawing Back.  Began playing guitar around his 14th birthday.  "I just decided to pick
    it up, because I didn't have anything else better to do.  Plus, I liked hearing my dad play.  One day I asked
    for him to teach me. He taught me everything he knew. It just went from there."

    Stevie Ray Vaughan.

We have also completed a live
demo. We threw it together at the
last minute to take to Memphis for
the International Blues Challenge.

16 year old demo,but it does not
capture what you can see at a show!
The boys are working hard in the
studio to get a "real studio
album"out!
In the 4 years since the band Drawing Back was formed,the members have consisted
of many talented people, They have all been a part of the great guitar driven blues
that Daniel is known for. Daniel has learned and grown from all of them! With  Alex
Salinas keeping the beat on the drums, and 17 year old Eli Roden walking a fine line
on bass, Drawing Back is complete!

Alex is a second-generation drummer.  Son of Larry Salinas, a band leader in the Texas hill country, who in the
height of his drumming career as a sideman, played alongside jazz bassist Gene Ramey, who is credited with
recording on albums featuring Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Dizzie Gillespe, to name a few.
Alex started playing in a high school grunge band and soon after began playing in his father’s band and other local
bands until he turned 18.  He then joined the Army where he served overseas in Afghanistan and played in several
different groups in his spare time.
Upon his completion of military service, it was back to business.  He came to Austin and began playing for a living
in a handful of different bands, recording, and touring all over the country, playing at festivals.
After a few years, Alex decided to further his musical education and followed his heart all the way to New York
City.  There he developed his style by playing in many different bands, touring, and recording often.  When not
playing he went to as many shows as humanly possible.
Some highlights in his career are:
recording at the renowned Cutting Room studio in Lower Manhattan with an engineer who’s resume reads like a list
of who’s who in today’s music.
being invited with his jazz group to play a gig in East Harlem.
playing a handful of gigs with friends, to raise money for the Long Island chapter of Wounded Warriors program.
After three years, Alex is back in Austin and thrilled to become part of Drawing Back.  He wants to  help spread
the word about the music of Daniel Conti and his tremendous talent and passion for the guitar, songwriting and
contribute to Drawing Back’s own twist on real Texas Blues.
